Network Change:
Cigna to BeniComp-managed plan
Effective January 1, 2026

BeniComp is the company that runs our medical plan behind the scenes. They are not a doctor or hospital. They handle things like:
• Processing medical claims
• Managing the provider network
• Helping make sure the plan works correctly

BeniComp uses different doctor networks depending on where you live:
• HealthSmart Network will be the medical network for California and Nevada employees and dependents.

Possibly. If your provider participated in the Cigna network, they may not automatically be in the new network. You should verify whether your provider participates in HealthSmart. You should check that your doctor is in the new network before your next appointment.

You may pay more out of pocket, or the visit may not be covered. This is why checking your provider is important. 6 Degrees Health will assist with out of network coverage access issues. See the 6 Degrees Health- Out-of-Network page for more information.

Most covered services stay the same, but the doctors and hospitals you can use may change.

• On the day your plan becomes active, you will have access to a digital copy of your insurance card in the BeniComp portal.
• To request a replacement of the physical copy of your insurance card, you can chat with a BeniComp member advocate in your member portal.
• Providers can verify your plan by calling BeniComp at (866) 797-3343 or by going to benicomp.com/provider.

• Preventive care, urgent care, and ongoing treatments
• Prescription medications when filled at in-network pharmacies

BeniComp offers extra help to make switching plans easier — especially if you have doctors you see regularly, upcoming procedures, or ongoing medications.
Help with transition to BeniComp

Your doctor’s office needs your new insurance information.
• You can submit your doctor’s information using BeniComp’s transition support form. Click here for the form to complete: Provider Outreach Form
• BeniComp will contact your doctor for you to update your insurance information.
• Choose “Provider Verification” as the request type.
• BeniComp will let you know once this is completed.

If you or a dependent has an upcoming surgery, procedure, or medication that was already approved under the old plan:
• Submit the details using the transition support form.
• Choose “Ongoing/Specialized Treatment” as the request type.
• BeniComp will review the information and work directly with your provider if more details are needed.
• You will receive updates or confirmation about coverage.
