Cigna to Kroger Prescription Plans

• You can use any major chain or most local pharmacies that accept the Kroger plan.
• Safeway is in-network and can be used by employees in California and other areas.
• There is also a mail-order option where prescriptions can be shipped directly to your home.
• You cannot use Amazon PillPack, so you will need to switch pharmacies if you were using them.

Yes. Check with your current pharmacy to see if they accept our plan. If not, make sure your prescriptions are transferred to Kroger or your new pharmacy of choice.

You can go to any in-network pharmacy and provide your new insurance card. Pharmacy staff can transfer your prescriptions from your old plan.

Most medications will still be covered. Some may require prior authorization under the new plan, so check with your pharmacist if you have any questions.

Yes. If you are currently taking a specialty medication, it will still be covered under your health plan. Programs like Payer Matrix are available to help manage costs and ensure you have access to these medications. They can help with funding assistance, copay programs, and connecting with your pharmacy or provider.

What is Payer Matrix?
Payer Matrix is a US-based organization that helps employees and dependents manage the cost of specialty medications. They work with plan sponsors to lower prescription drug costs for members.
What do they do?
• Advocate for funding for high-cost medications
• Identify patient assistance programs, manufacturer copay assistance, and other resources
• Reduce overall prescription drug costs for both members and the plan
What is specialty medication?
Specialty medications are prescription drugs that are usually: very expensive, used to treat rare, complex, or chronic conditions, and often require special handling, storage, or monitoring
Examples include:
Certain cancer treatments, Injectable or infusion medications for autoimmune diseases, and Medications for rare genetic conditions.
